Not a fruit forwards wine, more structure and substance and terroir. Fairly dry wine, tannins apparent, with oak flavors. Legs ran fast. Friend detected vegetal notes of peas. Peas! Should have told him I 'pead' in his glass. Oddly, even though it was mostly merlot, he said he tasted more of the cabernet grape. The remaining 25% is Cab Franc and that added to the aromatics.

Rich, velvety-sweet tannins with loads of dark fruit and hints of cocoa. Fruit and tannin integration is superb. Medium body with a nice silky finish. This wine is easily the best wine in its $ range.
