A beautifully balanced wine, one of the best I've ever had. Offered the manager a sip; she was surprised there was a merlot taste. Petite verdot added aromatics.Alcohol never surfaced, was all wine. Tasting so well so young

Potentially special
Score: 95 points
Drink by: 3 to 7 years
This wine produces a very intense mouth experience filled with great fruit. The plush and chewy tannins lack the tartness of lesser quality wines and seem to coat the tongue with a lining of grape flavored sediment. The finish is medium length. This tastes like a pure Napa cabernet, which it isn`t. Already a great drink with proper decanting I suspect in 3 to 7 years it will be even better. And at $65 (if bought by futures) a real steal. Go Ridge go!
