Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande Bordeaux Blend 1995

This is yet one more beautiful wine the color is so nice it is a sexy black and red with some purple.

The flavors are full and abundant with hits of coffee, cherry, and my favorite chocolate. This wine was smooth.

Sampled 2/28/05. Although far more approachable than the monster 1996 vintage is right now, decanting the wine for 1 hour was too little time. By the second hour it was starting to come around but was still tight. The blackberry, black cherry and plum qualities were emerging, but the cedary and earthy tones to the wine were still keeping the underlying fruit pinned down too much. There is no doubt this wine will be much better in time (or a couple more hours decanting time), but right now it is far from maturity. Can`t wait to come back to it again in a couple more years.
