What I remember of this wine is that it is a very nice wine and it is a good balanced blend. It is Sweet and nice in the mouth with a balance of fun and elegance.

Better than 1995

This is a wonderful Lalande. I think it`s better than the 95 though some people may not think so. If you never tried this wine, make sure to get couple bottles. Great color and good after taste. Make sure to decant in a decanter for 4-5 hours.

Shutting Down?

Sampled 1/23/05 in Magnum. This wine was decanted for at least 7 hours and never fully opened up. It came across as austere, but its deep purple hue and ever so grudging displays of blackberry on the nose and palate show that this wine is simply going through a phase in its development. This wine is much more dense and muscular than most Pichon Lalandes. It might be an incredible wine in time and worthy of a much higher score, but it patience is required.
