Light in color but big on flavor. Great dark red cherries, currant, tar, and smoke. Lots of breed here, this is a beautiful wine that is in a very great place. I wish I had a case in my cellar.

Sampled 9/24/09. A wine with a fair amount of complexity. Less fruit forward than I thought it would be. Plenty of ripe black fruits and cassis but also plenty of other things as well - cedar, green herbs (but not herbaceous), mushrooms, and toasted Oak. The tannins still have a few course edges to them, but this wine will continue to age gracefully and will probably be at peak in another 3 or 4 years.
