Leoville-Barton Bordeaux Blend 1996

Rated  on Aug 23, 2007

Deep dark plum and ruby colors. Hints of spicy oak, black currants fruit, and truffles. Full bodied a brilliant Bordeaux. Well priced.

SPECTACULAR!!!!THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE `96`s. An opaque purple color that is just starting to show wear around the edges--followed by a ripe sweetness, aromas of cassis infused with minerals and that earthy note that I love about Bordeaux. Full bodied density on the midpalate--there is enough going on here to make you never want 2 swallow---but when you do the finish takes you 2 the speed limit. A beautiful thang right now---start drinking them once a year--esp. if you have 15 more laying around--
