After 10 years, this is a wine in near perfect balance. Not a superb wine, but nicely put together. Soft tannins that provide structure throughout the wine. Nicely blended classic cabernet flavors. A hint of age on the nose and in the glass. Could have been better, maybe a little richer, if drank a few years ago, but still showing nicely.

An intriguing cabernet from Cliff Lede. Very true to a characteristic Napa Cab, but it brings more to the table. Layers of black currant, mocha, and espresso with an underlying minerality. Tannins are mouth watering, yet they remain very elegant and focused. There is almost a creaminess to the wine as it comes to the long and smooth finish. Really a very impressive wine form Cliff Lede.

One of the more impressive whites I have had from the vintage. Very light in the glass with refreshing lemon-lime citrus notes on the nose. Crisp and refreshing on the palate without having a bracing grip. Flavors balance the crispness of the wine nicely with notes of lime, a soft grassiness, and a hint of green chili spice. Very easy to drink with just the right amount of body and a light, but pleasant coating on the finish.

Very light straw in the glass. Wine suprises with flavor. Nice pear and vanilla notes. Wine has a nice body without being rich and over the top. Seamless throughout the wine with a nice long finish. A bargain relative to other chardonnays from the heart of Napa.

A dark plum in the glass with aromas of dark currant and herbs. Chewy on the palate with big tannins that do not overpower. Mineral notes accent the backbone of currant, sage, and dark fruit. Finish is clean and has nice length. It just seems to be missing something that would make it great at $30.

A thick, dark ruby in the glass with open aromas of plum and cocoa on the nose. Wine seems just a little tight at the moment, but does open with some air. Lots of flavors here that remain elegant and focused throughout. Notes of plum, kirsch, chocolate, with hints of smoke, black olive, and oak. Wine is almost seamless and very smooth. Finish is long and soft. This was a very nice pair with multiple foods. Overall this was just a really impressive California wine that will stand up to a few more years of aging if you can hold off from drinking it now.

A nice floral nose to the wine. A softer, yet light creamy texture. Lots of green apple, some peach, and light spice. Clean acidity on the finish that lasts nicely. Very nice, but better values are out there from Carneros.

A medium bodied sauvignon blanc that delivers. Light in the glass with a soft, clean gooseberry nose. The wine has a clean structure with nice citrus notes that do not overpower but still give a nice tartness. Finish is refreshingly smooth and lasts a very long time. A nice change from the New Zealand grapefruit sauvignon blancs.

A really enjoyable Rhone style blend from Elyse. Lots of tropical fruit in a crisp, lighter mouth feel. Wine is not as creamy as I had hoped, but balanced well throughout with just the right amount of acidity. Finish is just long enough for you to keep going back for more.

Much lighter wine than I expected, I had hoped for a little more body. Very soft, smooth and complex. Plum notes with hints of vanilla and light oak. Floral notes on the nose that may develop into spice with some years of aging, but it is drinking exceptionally well now. A nice and long finish that ends richly. Would match well with a nice veal shank.

"Sweet and sour" came to mind. It was though there were two opposites in this wine that came together to be truly impressive. A browning brick in the glass, the wine is slightly beginning to show its age. Dried fruit aromas on the nose. The wine is softening but still has strong tannins underlying the wine. Some very nice berry and cherry flavors blend surprisingly well with the coffee and tobacco notes that follow. The wine still provides a very long finish in its age. I would drink this one up in the next three to five years, or it may fade out leaving you unsatisfied.

Very dark in the glass with a big nose. Lots of gripping tannins take hold right up front. Fruit flavors of black currant takes a back seat to the tannins, with hints of anise and mocha trying to come forth. A big wine overall. I would sit this down for at least two more years to really enjoy its potential. A great value at around $20.

A weighty cabernet that shows a lot of lush fruit up front, that remains suprisingly soft. Lush, mouth-watering flavors of ripe cherry and currant leads to notes of cedar and some mocha notes on the long finish. Pretty fluid throughout. May soften and develop with a little more time in the bottle. it delivers a lot for $50 versus the Napa cabs, just in a bit different style.

A nice plum purple in color with a nose of dark berry with hints of grilled meats and spice. Nice blend of blackberry, strawberry, and spice. I still think there is a real light gamey note in the background that acts as a nice accent. The wine seems a but lighter than the nose portrays, but overall this is a nice wine, with nice flavor and a smooth lingering finish.

Almost a soft lavender pink in the glass. Some sweeter notes and a light burn on the nose. Very light on the palate, but full of deep fruit. Fruit sits lively on the palate with just a touch of tang. Very unique. Would be perfect on a hot summers day just slightly chilled.

Very dark and inky in the glass. Notes of blackberry and light vanilla aromas with a touch of kirsch. Lots of intensity and weight, but has some nice balance. I had hoped for more complexity. Fairly forward with lots of dark berry fruit with light coffee and smoke. Smooth wine with a nice lenghty finish once it opens up. Definitely needs a decanter unless you give it a few years. This one does not need time to gain weight, but might improve as it softens with a few years.

This is just a stylish and elegant pinot. This wine delivers a lot of complexity while remaining smooth and in near perfect balance. This wine is a garnet rose in the glass. The nose emit notes of soft spice and strawberries. Lots of layers with berry and ripe cherry up front followed by bits of soft earth, red licorice, and creamy structured tannins. A light sweetness balances out the drying tannins on the long and lingering tannins. Drink this one over the next few years. Just a really nice wine from Gary Brookman and Miner Wines.

A deep golden color with some floral notes on the nose. A nice mix of pear, green apple, and a touch of minerality. Wine is fresh and flavors linger with just a touch of creaminess. A pretty nice wine from the Hunter Valley.

A dark garnet purple in the glass. A bit of an odd nose with a floral earthiness to it. Wine may need lots of time to soften out and come together. Lots of fleshy herbal notes to the wine at the finish really stands out over the ripe cherry, currant, and lavender notes.

Still a big nose at 12 years old. Lots of leather, pepper, and dark fruit on the nose. Huge, yet subtle and soft. Very silky smooth from start to the long finish. Lots of rich layers. Dark berry, pepper, spice, and hints of chocolate blend seamlessly. The finish just goes on and on. This is a wine you could enjoys over hours because it is just too good to drink quickly.

Really nice wine with a bit of age on it. A bit rustic in style, but wine has really nice balance and flavors of slightly tart cherry, raisin, and earth come together well. Smooth throughout with a nice lasting finish. Tastes a lot more expensive than $25. I would drink it now, while it is most likely at its peak.

Very dark purple in the glass with earthy aromas. Cherry and currant flavors are starting to die out as this wine does not have the lushness I expected. Lots of earthy, briar, and spice notes dominate over this wine. Wine does have a bit of a bite on the finish, but does have some length on the end. This wine would have been better a few years ago, I would recommend drinking it up soon.

Lots of heavy blackberry and blueberry flavors with notes of smoke on a firm backbone of firm, yet structured tannins. The 16% does not really stand out, as the wines body hold its` own. Very long and lush finish that winds the wine out nicely. Could stand up for many more years of aging, but is drinking great now, so why wait? -As a side note, you can get a wine almost as big and lush in the Boxer for half the price...

Tasted from double magnum, this wine is still very deep plum in color. A little herbal in the nose, but still showing berry aromas. Wine is starting to turn and has hints of raisin in the mid-palate. Wine is surprisingly smooth throughout with a medium-light body. Hints of cedar and herb near the finish, there is only a little berry fruit left up front. Finish is short and simple. I feel this one would have been very nice a few years ago, but does not perform well today.
