Couldn`t resist opening one of my 375 ml. Light golden in colour, the honey, pears and papaya jumps right out at you. Velvety texture on entry with and huge length on the finish with hints of lemon rind tartness to it. Try it with a bite of mango sorbet. The two go great!

After hearing all the raves, I managed to get a few bottles of this. I have now had it on two occasions and have enjoyed this wine tremendously. Both times we had minimal decant time on the wine (30 minutes) and would not give it much more. The wine was a dark purple colour with a nose of berries, coffee, chocolate and hints of oak. The entry is rich with a thick mouth feel and lots of fruit but the chocolate on the nose is still very much there. The wine finishes with smooth fine tannins and the 14.5+% alcohol is barely noticeable. This wine can be drunk now with pleasure especially if you are like me and can`t wait.

One hour in the decanter. The vanilla from the oak was the first thing you notice on the nose before revealing hints of blackberry and crushed fruit. Briliant purple in color, this is big Aussie wine with a sweet entry and mouthful of fruit. However, the wood is very much present still like other young Commands I have had. There is hints of mocha and chocolate on the smooth finish with a rounded mouth coating feel. Wine is approachable now but give it s few years . . . the 98 is drinking beautifully. While very good indeed, the Speculator`s 97 is a tad high.
