| This is a fun wine if that makes sense. The earthy undertones and light meat flavors are interesting, but what's more interesting is how this is a medium bodied wine that hits you like a full bodied. 2 glasses will do the trick! |

An excellent wine -- smooth, rich, very nice. One critic mentioned
chocolate, and it was certainly there. Seemed to be pretty good to go,
although I have a few more and I will see what another year or so does.
Day
2. The wine lost something meaningful overnight. I do not do anything
fancy with partial bottles (I put the cork back in), but often, red
wines are better the next day, suggesting they ned to age a bit more
(at least to me). This wine did not suggest that |

| Nice wine. Nose of dark fruits, hint of cinnamon, damp basement. Tastes of sour cherries, acidity, starts lights, gets heavier and leaves with a long finish. Thought it may go well w/babbo's Short ribs (some tomatos in it) and Squash Risotto., but the Ribs were too heavy to compete w/barbera. Prob a better pairing would be w/ lighter tomato sauced pastas. |

| Superb example of Barbera d’alba. Not the same acidic profile you get
from barbera d’asti. This has big black berry fruit, slight acidity, but savage
tannins that will hit you on the back of the palate. It’s hard not to keep
going back for more. |

| This is not an unfortunate Italian dirt bomb. Winemaking in Italy has improved tremendously and is ever more appealing to the American palate which this wine makes abundantly clear. Deep purple in color with a slightly brick colored rim, this wine clearly has depth even before taking a sniff. Once in the nose, deep, dark fruits are apparent with a nice hint of blueberry and minimal dusky tones. The palate is rich, ripe and big with a combination of red and black fruits. Strong tannin makes this a good food wine and also one you don’t have to drink immediately – it has staying power. |
