| Dark,
dense, opaque red to cherry red rim. Dusty nose full of spice, soft blackberry
and cherry fruit with a touch of oak, menthol, and some eucalyptus. Soft entry
onto the palate , this medium-bodied wine features flavors of cherry and
blackberry carried through to the medium length finish by a hint of mint, dried
tobacco, and a touch of dried herbs. Shows great balance between acid, tannins,
and alcohol. Drink now – 2015 |

| Medium ruby red with wide pink rim. A blockbuster nose full of dusty dark fruit
and spice leads to a medium-bodied palate loaded with black fruits and cassis.
This opened up exceptionally well with air, and I would cellar it for a few
years to drink at its full potential. At under $20, this easily drinks like it's
twice the price. |

| Classic Bordeaux. This features a bright, dark shiny red color with a
red rim. The nose is full of earth, barnyard, and dark, ripe red
fruits. Very soft on the palate entry, this full bodied wine features
flavors of cassis and dark fruit with a hint of smoke and oak. Soft
tannins make this easy to drink, delicious. |

I enjoyed this wine in a tasting of 5 2005 Red Bordeaux's. This wine was more inky in color and rich in comparison to the others. Reminded me of some Washington or California blends where the Cab Franc comes through, (L'Ecole 41's Perigee from 2004 in particular). Some nice soft earth tones shone through. Delicious.

One of the highlights of the Barrell Tastings in 2006, the entire Domaine Dillon was stellar. This is a monumental wine; a cornerstone of any serious cellar. I buy to enjoy and this is one of the most reliable purchases you can make. $349.00 per bottle at Bordeaux Specialist, www.mndfinewine.com |

| Ruby red core with an medium ruby red rim. Subtle aromas of Rainer
Cherry, strawberry, and chalk with some nicely integrated herbal aromas
including black tea and sage. Firm upon entry this wine fleshes out on
the mid-palate into one of the bigger Medoc wines of the vintage. Firm
tannins and some nice toasty oak notes as well. This is classic Bordeuax |

| Deep purple core with a medium bright ruby rim. Superp nose of dark
chocolate, blackberry, and black currant wrapped around mocha and
coffee. Very clean and fresh throughout with fine grained tannins and a
nice mineral driven backbone. While, silky in texture it shows nice
structure as well. This is a hedonistic and delightful wine that will
be at its best within the first 10-15 years.91-93 |

| 2008 - Lynch Bages |
| Apr 23, 2009 |
|
|
| Medium ruby core with a bright red rim. Restrained nose of red currant,
boysenberry, and tart cherry with a touch of damp earth as well. This
surprisingly fruit driven Lynch Bages is big and lush upon entry then
thins out a bit before finishing with a nice tannic punch. I like the
prospects of aging this wine for at least a couple decades after
bottling. Nicely textured yet firm in overall structure |

750 ml bottle authenticated by Christie's auction house. Upon cork removal, cork was dark and aged. Cork, label, and capsule absolutely authentic. First pour tasted like it may possibly be oxidized. Decided to pour through coffee filter into decanter and re-pour. Wow! Not oxidized. Color was similar to tawny port but with more red notes. Nose was unbelievable with buttered pumpkin bread, fruitcake, slight floral note and a hint of cumin. The nose was so unbelievable, it was hard to stop smelling and begin tasting. Tremendous weight especially on midpalate. Similar to sucking on a spoon full of honey as it just sat on the palate. No acid whatsoever with subtle but tremendous complexity. Could taste the volatile acidity slightly on the hindplalate though my friend did not perceive this as much. Finish was neverending -- 5 minutes or more. This bottle was unlike any other wine. Not classic bordeaux, cali or anything I can think of. It was just tremendously otherworldly and fabulous. Two things stuck out. Absolutely no acid on the palate making it completely mouthcoating and wonderful. The second was the finish. I could still perceive it even after starting a new bottle -- it just kept hanging onto the midpalate in a ethereal sort of way. One other strange thing, well I expected it to fade in the glass, it continued to only improve with time in the glass despite its age. We followed with a 2005 Scarecrow and 1999 Lafite. Both were wonderful but suffered from being tasted after this monumental, ethereal, and transendent bottle of 47 Cheval Blanc.
I get the feeling this was not a perfect bottle of 47 Cheval as most accounts have the wine with a darker, more intense color but it was still a 99 point wine. It just had something wonderful about it that came through despite any faults in the storage or bottle. It was awesome and would likely be even better from a magnum. |

This is a very modern style Bordeaux that is very dark ruby in color with a slightly lighter rusty colored rim. The nose is very expressive showing cedar, tobacco, black cherry, and baking spices. Once in the mouth the wine shows lots of structure hinting it is capable of lasting for many more years. Full bodied, with coffee notes, dark black fruits and a mouth-full of big smooth tanins.
