| 30 minute quadruple splash decant. Dark and brooding. The nose is fragrant with black cassis notes, black cherries, and crème de kirsch. The palate has a silky and pure mouthfeel that is lush and elegant. Totally open for business. There is the crème de kirsch with some cocoa, black currants, black cherries, super black plums and pomegranate. Amazing intricately weaved tannins with a lilthy acidic 'bounce'. A very long and poignant finish that goes minutes, not second. A fantastic showing indeed. No rush, but no need to postpone enjoyment either. |

Decanted 3+ hours. A very classic cabernet, and not in the best of ways. Dark and dense, the nose showed absolutely nothing save for a slight note of cassis, very ungiving indeed. The palate had some ‘iron grip old Cali Cab’ stylings. Realizing these need decades and not just years, we continued on anywho. All correct black fruits of currant and blackberries with some hints of leather, tar, & coffee beans. The tannins clobber and the clunky feel never really dissipates. The mouth feel is mid weight and the finish admirable. A very correct wine if one wants to just drink correct wines. I don’t. I want show and schnizzle, so the implied flaw in this case may be a byproduct of the taster and not the wine. My score may not be fair, but a 89 seems about right to me tonight. |

| (30 minute decant) showed wonderfully. Coming right after the Maybach, it had some great balance, structure and roundness being just a teeny bit short on the finish (initally). Sitting in the glass for 15 minutes opened this up and lengthened the finish out nicely. Pure blackberries, a hint of creme de cassis, and some lead pencil shavings. Great dense and lush mouthfeel while not being a head banger. Glad I have more and although I can't give last nights bottle another 99, I consider it still up there in my wine-o-memory bank as one that satisfies. |

Further proof that when you order Frank Family, you will not be disappointed. The fruit is pure Napa, with a nose that makes you want to dive into the glass and swim around in it. The finish is long and balanced, with just the right amount of oak. Frank has access to some of Napa's finest fruit and a winemaker that apparently can do it justice. |

Beauty nose but needs some coaxing. Clear ruby color, not too dark. Palate opens with balanced fruit and a classy spicy finish brings it home. Some minerality adds interest. Very french in style but with the generous CA fruit. With air some tobacco notes emerge on the nose. Oak is in the background. I only noticed the alcohol after repeated sips. Remarkable second wine!

| 2005 - Catena Zapata, Bodegas Catena Alta Cabernet |
| now u know why Governors go down in Argentina! |

| This wine made me a believer in the magical powers of Argentina! They say the grapes are harvested @ 3100' & 3400' elevation but whatever the reason, it not only comes down from "on high" but will take u there quickly! This is an awesome wine that will only get better with age. You can drink now or cellar for a few years but do yourself (& ur friends) a favor and serve it at cellar temperature (55 to 60 degrees F.). You will be rewarded as the wine's complexity unfolds in your glass as it warms to room temperature! |

Tasted blind, I pegged this is a California Right Bank style Bordeaux blend. I swore it was Merlot based, but this cab has that unmistakeable New World nose. Dark red with a wide pink rim, very soft notes of sweet fruits and cassis envelope the nose. On the palate, the new oak is very apparent and the plums and purple fruit is slightly tart with medium tannins. Well made, but tricky!

Concentrated, velvety, and complex. Dill and fresh cut herbs show through on the nose surrounded by Bing cherry, blackberry liquor, and powdered sugar. Lots of lift on the mid-palate with fresh red licorice, baking spices, and chocolate. Refined tannins and excellent finish

| 2004 - Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon |
| New world taste, very frutty and full of berries, well balanced wine! |

Disclaimer: I'm new in the wine world guys, but I have realized I really enjoy it!
New world taste, very frutty and full of berries, well balanced wine. I received a bottle of the 2004 Oakville Ranch from a good friend that owns a restaurant and I was quite surprise when I taste it. I kept it cool on my wine cooler and my brother in law came to visit and we decided to try this one out. I had no time to open it a let it breath before I pour it, and I was amazed it wasn't necessary. The wine was awsome from the very begining. When it started to open I felt I wanted to have only small sips to don't finish the bottle since it was so good! I heard it is about $50.00, but I haven't found it in any of the local stores where I live. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!

This Cab was still young
tasting with lots of red currant, cedar, and ripe strawberry. Showing
exceptionally well (despite some heavy tannins) this should have
another 5-10 years of life in it easily. I
wish I still had some beef cheek Ravioli left to try this with, but
there is only so much food left @ 1am in the remote hills of Carmel
Valley.

Dense purple core with a fuchsia rim. This Cab shows great
concentration with a delightful nose of powdered chocolate, blackberry,
and vanilla extract. This has some serious fruit character on the nose
with some subtle undertones of extra ripe plum and dill as well. Soft
going in but builds towards a big tannic finish. This should be open
for business in a year or two. NOTE: This is one of the more solid wines you'll find in a restaurant at a reasonable price
