| 9998 - Laurent, Jean Brut Blanc de Noirs Champagne |

Bright golden straw color. Honey and spice on the nose continues onto the palate. I jotted down "definitely champagne" with a lush, rich mouthfeel and lots of yeasty toast. Surprising flavors for a blanc de noir (in my opinion). Quite enjoyable.

| Might as well had a sparkling white from outside the champagne region, but had a great experience earlier and forgot the vintage year. Used to celebrate my return from Iraq, and found at a reasonable price, so not too dissapointed. In retrospect, should have had a Pannier extra brut that won the silver. Chears all!!! |

| 9998 - Heidsieck Monopole NV Brut Blue Top |
| Jan 09, 2009 |
|
|
| Golden yellow hues with lots of small to medium sized bubbles.
Toasty and rich aromas with hints of caramel and biscuit around yellow
apple, pear and a touch of lemon. Fresh and bright on the palate with a
nice mix of toast and fruit. Apple fruit is surrounded by lighter
toasty oak spices and a touch of white flowers, leading to a lingering
hint of butterscotch on the finish.
The
perfect way to start any holiday party. Very balanced flavors make this
easy to drink and a sure crowd pleaser for anyone who likes bubbly. Dry
and crisp - perfect to drink before dinner, but with enough body to
stand up to fish, shellfish, white meat and pastas with cream sauce.
Heidsieck & Co Monopole is one of the oldest Champagne producers in
France, and their decades of experience really come through in this
well made and well priced (for traditional Champagne) bottle. A blend
of approximately 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Meunier. |

| Vino Lovers say Yes! |

|
| This has straw/golden yellow appearance and crisp sour smell with peach and lime. The flavor has a strong, fruity attack and good, creamy, yeasty taste with definite mineral components as well as peach and berries. There is a smooth texture and a good effervesence. Tasty! |

| 9998 - Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame |
| Excellent |
| Jun 08, 2008 |

|
| I can't remember the vintage of this wine but it was excellent! It had rich and biscuity flavors , backed up by hints of lemon and ginger. Packed with bubbles and buffeted by zingy acidity, this one should have years left in it - and the finish goes on for minutes. Great stuff. |

| I thought this was just a lovely champagne that my friend picked out for her wedding shower. The sourdough and toast is covered with honey melon juice, mixed with light light lemon and sweet citrus flavors. This is the stuff I wish I could drink every day!! |

| Well rounded wine, with nice crispness and acidity. Nice apple and pear component adds a little bit of character to the wine. Overall a solid effort, but slightly pricey for what you get. |

| PERFECT BUBBLES!!! |
| May 30, 2008 |

| This wine was beautiful from the nose to the palate to ten mimutes after the last drop was drunk. This is a very full and complex wine, that delivers on every single inch of your palate. The toast, the tiny bubbles, and honeysuckle stick out the most. |

| While the NV is the coca-cola of good champagne, this vintage bubbly has a profile of sourdough and strawberries as opposed to toasted brioche. Nice complexity, a champagne to ponder and not just slam. |

| 1999 - Moet Chandon Dom Perignon |
| Creamy |
| May 23, 2008 |

|
| This seemed to be a more creamy Dom than what I've had in the past. Overall, I thought this brought more crispness than prior vintages. The orange flavors mentioned in other reviews is right on the money and not something I've tasted before in Dom. |

| Nice structure and nutty flavor to this NV champagne. It doesn't disappoint but it also does not blow me away for the price. Very creamy champagne with light toast on the back of the throat. Good Stuff. |

| Louis won't do you wrong for when you need some bubbly and haven't invested the time in seeking out some grower champagne jewel. Toasty and yeasty but with a richness speaking of a fair percentage of PN. I like it |

| 1999 - Moet Chandon Dom Perignon |
| Dry citrus in style, with effervescence. |
| Apr 28, 2008 |
|
|
Moet and Chandon has been at the Dom Perignon game for over 70 years, and here we're trying the 1999 vintage.
In
the glass, you notice a light yellow tone with a slight golden hue. The
vista is interrupted by a single strand of fast moving bubbles. Aromas
are of yeasty lemon.
On the palate, effervescence is the first
note. The overall feel is dry, with acids moving up the side of your
mouth. Dry citrus in style, with a relatively brief finish. I didn't
see the stuffing that would suggest long additional aging potential,
though I'm clearly outvoted by the experts on this assessment. I'm
giving two stars because, although the experience was pleasant enough,
I wasn't drawn back to another experience. A plus is added for the
delicate balance.
But, all in all, in the Champagne category, I am drawn more to the Duval-Leroy Brut NV, at a significantly lower price point. I realize this review won't win friends, but it's just how I see it.

| 9998 - Krug Grande Cuvee |
| Golden yeasty, musty. |
| Apr 28, 2008 |
|
|
The 160+ year old House of Krug constructs this multi-vintage Champagne Krug Brut Grande Cuvee.
In
the glass, this Krug is golden in color. There is a slow, percolating
flow of bubbles. Aromas are deep, rich, with a golden yeasty musty
aroma.
On the palate, there is a round aromatic feel, smooth and
funky, with a visit by very ripe melons. It is a round sensation, but
lifted by sweet, full acids. It sports an even, lengthy finish. Three
stars out of five.

| 1998 - Feuillatte, Nicolas Cuvee Palmes d'Or |
| Carmel cream plus bubbles... |
| Apr 28, 2008 |
|
|
he Palmes d'Or Champagne for 1998 is made of 60% pinot noir and 40%
chardonnay. It is medium yellow in the glass, with modest bubbles. The
aroma is deep and creamy. On the palate, you get carmel cream in the
middle, with bubbles bringing the acids up to the roof of your mouth.
Finish is made of roasted nuts and semi-sweet carmel. Nice. Four stars
out of five.

| 9998 - Heidsieck, Charles Brut Champagne Reserve |
| Ferocious bubbles! |
| Apr 28, 2008 |
|
|
The French champagne Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve is a compote of
multiple vintages, with approximately four years of bottle age.
It is light yellow in the glass, with ferocious bubbling when first poured.
There is a bready/cream aroma from the glass.
On
the palate, the impression is one of round, dry, slightly funky
pinkness, with light acids. Finish is even and modest in length. Three
stars out of five.
