the wine is ruby-red in colour with an intense, characteristic and delicate aroma, harmonious, with a hint of vanilla and red fruit, wide and warm taste. Persistent, very harmonious and tasty, with a structure and complexity which gives the wine longevity.

| 2004 - Fanti (Tenuta San Filippo) Brunello di Montalcino Riserva |
| one of the best '04 |

COLOUR: Dark, very intense red rubin with violet shades; light garnet-red tonalities that can just be noticed on the glass border.
FRAGRANCE: Wide, elegant, delicate, lingering, earthy with mineral hints integrated with the fruity flavour and a sweet spiciness.
TASTE: The first impact is sweet with sensations on mouth entry full of structure. Close-knit tannic weight but sweet and silky. Very well balanced tannins with wine sweetness. Full-flavoured and full-bodied, rich in end-palate fruity and spicy sensations.

Rich ruby garnet red colour. A mature, generous, complex nose with ripe aromas of cherries and raspberries, light tobacco notes and pleasant hints of coffee and cocoa powder. The palate is especially mouthfilling and generous with confident, elegant tannins and a long, lingering finish. |

Aromas of raisins, dried flowers and prunes. Gorgeous ripe nose. Full-bodied, round and caressing. Very, very long. Lovely wine. Hard not to drink now. Reminds me of fine Burgundy. |

| 1997 - Pertimali (Livio Sassetti) Brunello di Montalcino |
| An Italian Brunello |
| May 21, 2008 |
|
|
| a beautifully balanced wine that had a touch of leather on the nose and red and dark cherry fruit on the palate. Medium bodied and still tannic. One of the most balanced wines I have had in some time. Remarkably youthful and remarkable balance between fruit, acid, and tannins. Easily can go another ten years and a great Italian wine. |

| 1999 - Frescobaldi Brunello di Montalcino Castelgiocondo |
| Beautiful Brunello at Accessible Price |
| May 20, 2008 |

|
| So Brunello isn't exactly a deal, but this is a true, beautiful Brunello, with pure Sangiovese character, at a price that seems reasonable for the quality. Truly excellent. |

| 1999 - Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Cerretalto |
| Still young, needs another 5+ years... |
| May 15, 2008 |
|
|
| Infantacide indeed. Popped from cellar and poured to taste. The darkest wine I've seen. It looked like black coffee with a brick red tint. Initially, musty and woody. Left it alone in the bottle for 12 hours. Gave it a sniff still closed and musty. Decanted and left alone for another 8 hours. Got home from a Christmas celebration and it was finally showing well. Coffee and dark chocolate aromas dominated the nose, along with dark berries. It was a little bit hollow. Fairly acidic but very refreshing. Fine tannins. Long finish. I'm not opening any more bottles for another 7 years. |

| 2003 - Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova |
| Wonderful juice... |
| May 12, 2008 |

|
| Popped and consumed over 8 hours. This has not shut down, yet. Very,
very dark brick red color. Nose of creme di cassis, dried fruit and dry
earth, beautiful. In the mouth, huge, but pleasent tannins, lots of
acidity but a good amount of fruit to balance everything out. Lots of
dried fruit character in the mouth. Very solid Brunello. A-/A |

| 2003 - Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino |
| Needs time...at the very least five... |
| May 12, 2008 |

|
| Popped and consumed over an 8 hour period. I'm guessing it is nearly
shut down. Very dark brick red color. Nose of dark fruits, menthol,
tar, leather and licorice. Bright acidity, round, mouth coating
tannins, and balanced with a long earthy finish. B+ Best after 2013 |

| 2001 - Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino |
| WOW! This is THE BEST BRUNELLO EVER! |
| Apr 14, 2008 |
|
|
The benchmark for 2001 Brunello, the Casanova di Neri does not dissapoint. Big bold black fruit, with a nice touch of oak and bracing tannin. This is a SUPER big wine. It's almost black in the glass, with a lush mouthfeel and an extremely long finish. It's no wonder it was the number 1 wine of the year in 2006. Does it get any better than this?

| 2001 - Collelceto Brunello di Montalcino |
| Classic Brunello |
| Apr 14, 2008 |
|
|
| This is a true old world brunello. Nice fruit on the palate, but also
those hints of good barnyard. Not a blockbuster like some of the other 2001s,
but definitely one every brunello lover should try. This is a food wine. Tannins
are refined and well integrated. |

Amazing wine! Full bodied, concentrated with loads of fruit--yet still
retains the classic Italian old world style. Amazing dish with lamb at
Barbambino. Glad I have 1 more. This wine is just as good as the 2001 Casanova
di Neri.

| 2001 - Capanna Brunello di Montalcino Riserva |
| Corked Capanna |
| Apr 14, 2008 |

|
One of the worst Brunellos I've ever had. .. too much barnyard (brett),
thought could have been corked. This is the 2nd bottle I've opened and it was
truly disapointing especially since there are so many great 2001s out there.
Will never buy again.

| 2000 - Altesino Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli |
| Great homework |
| Apr 08, 2008 |
|
|
The '00 Altesino Brunello di Montalcino was acutally a bit tough to figure out. We spent a few hours just trying to pin down what were some of the aromoas were were tasting, but once we got that nailed down, it was very enjoyable. It has
gorgeous aromas of raspberry, flowers and mineral follow through to a
silky palate; SMOOTH.
