|
| Wow what a beautiful pale golden color (clean and clear). Absolutely
intoxicating aromas of peach, ripe citrus, and apricot confiture. Shows
tons of botrytis but remains fresh and lively on the mid-palate. Lots
of toasty marshmallow and charred oak with everything in the right
place (and in the right proportion). Loaded with fruit, but replete
with the proper acidty… Delicious and rich |

| 2003 - Sigalas Rabaud |
| Good desert |

|
| This was another excellent desert wine. It smells of sweet nectar and honey. The taste is like nectar from heaven. There's strong honey and nectar flavors as well as peach and mango. It's creamy and delicious and I wish I could have more! |

| 2001 - Chateau d'Yquem |
| Perfect! |
| Jun 03, 2008 |

|
| This is one of the most expensive and most impressive bottles I have ever had the privelege of drinking. Best over the next 50+ years - it has wonderful apricot, tangerine, and peach flavors on the palate. The flavors stay in your mouth for days. Literally! |

| 2003 - Chateau d'Yquem |
| Perfection |

|
| This was the best of the vintages I have tried at my Dads house. The wine is magic on the palate with precision perfect acidity, totally alive and fresh with waves of taste sensations that make this wine so special. Hugely concentrated flavours of fruit. You know you are drinking something special and the graceful finish completes a perfect wine. Don't drink this wine yet, leave it at least another 10 years. Can happily age for 70 years. |

| 1997 - Chateau d'Yquem |
| Awesome Every Time |
| Jun 03, 2008 |

|
| And again this wine dominates, in the glass the wine is a striking golden colour with tints of green. After some period of decanting the nose comes forward in spades pouring forth honey and almonds, with cream and pineapples in support. |

| 1999 - Chateau d'Yquem |
| Another Slam Dunk! |

|
| Again - the wine was awesome, rich, massive and one of the longest finishes that I have come across. The apricots and lemons were bouncing around the room like they just didn't care. |

| 2000 - Chateau d'Yquem |
| Desert Anyone? |
| Jun 03, 2008 |
|
|
| I love the big fruit that is dipped in a heavenly sweet sugar sauce. Chateau d'Yquem lives up to its reputation and more. It is a dessert wine, of course, but to eat it with dessert would almost be a waste. It is a dessert on par with the most incredible desserts in the world all by itself. This vintage is the best I've tasted yet, and it will definitely only get better with age. |

| The actual length of the wine was amazing - I could taste it 5 minutes later. Simply magic. The sweet apricot, peach and pear flavors are covered in a a carmel nut sauce. Beautiful wine. |

| 2001 - Castelnau De Suduiraut |
| Great year, but too much of the good juice is in first label. |
| May 15, 2008 |

|
| Bright golden color, clear along the edges. Nose of Botrytis, dried pineapple and saffron. Full bodied, overly sweet, needs more acidity. Finished with botrytis and saffron notes. Hot finish. |

| 2003 - Chateau Suduiraut |
| Wonderful Sticky! |

|
| 90% Semillion Grapefruity, grassy nose initially, very surprizing. It turned to the normal, pleasent mix of tropical fruits and saffron. Very tropical in the mouth. Passionfruit, melon and a bit of botrytis. Sauternes is my favorite type of wine, this was the best Sauternes I've ever had. Outstanding wine. |

| 1972 - Barton & Guestier Sauternes |
| still going strong |
| May 12, 2008 |

|
| I know that this is not an estate-bottled, fancy, cru. Nevertheless,
after 35 years or so, it was delicious. There was enough sugar so that
the wine still had a hint of sweetness, and as one might imagine, all
the other flavors were resolved. Perfect balance. I am partial to
Sauternes, but this was a beauty that I bought on a lark last fall.
Amazing. |
