Dark red / purple with a brilliant pink to clear rim.  The nose features intense, brambly ripe raspberry, black cherry, and wild blackberry seesawing back and forth with spicy black pepper, all under a soft layer of violets.  The deep, juciy fruit is accentuated on the palate by flavors of tar, and a hint of red grape skins.  Muscular & dense, the long finish sticks with you for 90+ seconds.

Very dark red, almost black, with a bright pink rim.  Incredibly multilayered nose that you can feel go into your head and down your throat!  Intoxicating nose of dusty, sweet cherry and blueberry, dark flowers, ample spice, a hint of wood, pork fat, and a tiny bit of powdered chocolate.  On the palate it's huge and lush, filling the mouth with velvety flavors.  The finish lasts for over a minute with a sweetness balanced by ample acid that's quite pleasing.  Any tannins are very soft.  This is an opulent, delicious wine with personality.

Very dark red with a shiny pink rim.  Thick, sweet, and fruit on the nose with elements of white pepper, cured meats, mushroom, spice, blueberries, liquer, and a touch of plum.  The palate explodes with pepper & sweet tea.  At 16.1% alcohol I thought the finish would be much hotter than it is, but it helps give it a tremendous length.

Deep dark ruby core with a dull red rim. Aromas of saddle leather, all-spice, and cardamom followed by dark cherry, chocolate, and citrus zest. Earthy on the mid-palate with some truffle, candied red fruits, and dried herbs. Medium finish

Tasted blind.  Medium-dark red with a pink rim.  Some purple tones with lots of spicy, crackling pepper.  Some stemmy flavors on the palate (showing its youth) with good earth.  Very nice!

An amazing dark purple.  And I mean DARK and I mean PURPLE.  Ripe fruit with incredible concentration, it took a lot of swirling to get that white pepper to come out.  Soft on the palate with deep blackberry fruit.  Highly recommended.

Very dark red with dark pink rim.  Loads of pepper, blackberries, spice rub, and spoke with some beautiful dark flower aromas on the nose.  Soft on the palate with red and dark fruits, this wine evolved over the couple hours I tasted it.  Quite delicious and highly recommended.

Super bright pinkish red color to a clear rim. Medium aromas of dark cherry and blackberry with no real noticeable spice or pepper, which I guess makes sense for the Dry Creek Valley. Medium dark cherry and blackberry flavors continue onto the palate with some added chocolate and some plum on the finish. Nice and balanced. (0 views)

Another blockbuster wine from Chapoutier.  Dark red with some purple tones all the way to the rim, the nose us unmistakably syrah with blackberry jam and black pepper.  The flavors continue onto the palate with a nice, comforting sweetness in the middle.  Hints of anise continue with the peppery characteristics into the long, long finish.  This wine is made from the oldest vines in Côte-Rôtie at the top of the Northern Rhone and is unfiltered/unfined and will age gracefully.

I am a big syrah fan and this wine did not disappoint especially for the price.  This wine has a dark ruby color that is almost purple.  The nose is loaded with pure ripe black fruits, almost like smelling a basket of fresh blackberries in the summertime.  This wine is clearly very young and will definitely get better with a bit of age.  On the palate blackberry, raspberry, bacon, and herbs. The wine coats your mouth and has ripe, sweet tanins.  If you are a fan of Saxum and big reds like that this will surely please.

This wine has a deep, dark ruby color and a slightly lighter ruby rim.  On the nose subtle notes of of blackberry, casis, lavender, pine and licorice.  Once in the mouth bright black fruits, a bit of bananna, a stony, rocky component and a slight touch of oak This has a medium plus to long finish that is clean and pure.  A great value from a consistent producer.

Very Dark Purple almost inky in color.  A very pretty nose of Blackberry, Violet, Blueberry, and Lavender.  This wine is very young and looks like it has the potential to age well based on the wines acidity.  On the palate copius amounts of black fruits and a nice smoky, meaty, character.Nice!

Dark ruby core with a lighter pinkish/garnet rim. Spicy and medicinal on the nose with some black fruits. Very fruity on the palate. A touch of heat leading to a jammy, somewhat cloying sweet spicy finish.
