Medium-light red with tones of purple, leading to a red rim that fades to milky pink at the rim.  The nose is full of a slightly sweet, luxurious fruit core surrounded by delicate floral aromas.  The balance stays true on the palate and the soft plum and cherry fruits are surrounded a nice layer of cedar and spice.  The oak is well integrated and this is drinking great now!

Very dark, with a unique fragrant nose of crushed purple flowers and an intoxicating sweet element on top.  Blueberry city on the palate, with flavors of the crushed berries.  Very dense, surprisingly tannic in the mid to rear palate, this probably needs a couple more years in the bottle to smooth out.  Very nice.

Ridiculous Value Rose

This is an absolutely stunning value rose from Spain.  This has a beautiful pinkish hue and an incredibly aromatic nose.  Watermelon, strawberries, white peach, and a soft floral note all play well together.  On the palate crisp, clean, and fresh, with great acidity and rich minerality.  This is a perfect wine for the Spring and Summer months ahead.  It is an excellent apertif wine and will go great with grilled foods.  I swear if I was served this in a black glass that it was a red wine; it has that much complexity!

2004 - Pingus Flor de Pingus

I enjoyed a half bottle of this wine at the French Laundry in June of 2008, while on an epicurean excursion through California's wine country.  This wine was, by far, the best wine I tasted that week, before, or since.  I am in love with the Pingus.  It paired with everything nicely, deliciously full bodied but not overpowering or heavy.

IF you like fruit bombs....has a nose of vanilla and cassis.nice plum and blackberry front giving way to some toffee flavored gripping tannins then the finish is full of raisins. this is an interesting wine needs to open a little. it's worth a shot but surely not for everybody. would pair nicely with a juicy steak.

This vintage has vanilla notes up front, with some ripe berry and currant flavor there as well. Hard but integrated tannins come accross on the midpalate and finish. Probably not one for the old school Tempranillo drinkers, but this has to be a hit in the domestic market that loves the big stuff.

New from Old

This is a very new world styled wine with vanilla oak and fruit exploding. Big and ripe, very much seeming to show a "new world" style, this tempranillo could almost pass for some kind of California cabernet.  Drink over the next 5 years.

pass on this vintage

Big disappointment after the 2001 vintage.  It has crappy sour-cherry nose with tons of fake sweetness followed by a chemical aspect that is not at all enjoyable. On the palate this stuff is awful because it tastes just like it smells.  Pass on this vintage.

Good  Tempranillo! This was a good surprise to the palate with very nice plum and vanilla taste - I smell a surprising bit of tobacco on the nose. Quite nice and very easy to drink.

Repetitive Much?

This is more of the same, maybe a little more vanilla than previous vintages but otherwise hard to discern between them.  Cherries, tobacco, and cedar box are dominate after the vanilla oak.

Slightly less refined

This vintage is still crawling with cherry, tobacco, vanilla oak and cassis flavors, but the fruit is a little less expressive and the oak is slightly less refined.  The tannins are also a little bit chewier than later vintages.

This is again a wine that I have seen have very minimal variance from vintage to vintage, so if you like this wine, keep buying other vintages, and if you don't, well then don't bother.  The vanilla oak, cherries, currant and earthy undertones are all present.

Good But Overrated

This wine is a solid 90 point wine, and that's good but that's all it is.  The vanilla oak and sweet cherries pour out on the nose and the palate.  The earthy undertones help drown out the alcohol that you taste on a lot of Spanish wines.

The fruit on this wine is second to the vanilla oak like a lot of lower end Spanish wines in my opinion, but this wine does shine for the price.  The strawberry and blackberry flavors are subtle but very nice.  Drink now.

Great wine - not quite ready for consumption, but it will be eventually.  The coffee and vanilla bean flavors impressed me the most.  I would recommend this wine to anyone who enjoys wine and has deep enough pockets.

Numnathia

2000 Numnathia ... dense, thick wine with spice and anise on the nose and mouth as well as a fair dose of vanilla.  Night two of this wine and the spice and anise gave way to more earth/mineral and asphalt. Still quite big and even better than the first night.

Inky, almost black color. Nose of red raspberries. Akward, almost hollow mid-palate. OK finish with noticeable tannins. Acceptable with food but not as a cocktail wine.

Not bad

I don't dislike this wine but I also don't get the hype.  Parker way overrates this wine on a consistent basis.  If you expect 90+ points you'll get disappointment, if you expect 87+ - you'll be content.  The fruit is over powered by vanilla oak and alcohol.
