| 2004 - Kendall Jackson Zinfandel Grand Reserve California |
| Green but Good |
| Jun 11, 2008 |
| Liked this wine. Strong vegetal/green pepper aromas as soon as I pulled the cork. Not much fruit to detect in the nose. Sharp sour fruit flavors immediately on palate (cranberry, sour cherry). Some red fruit hints buried in there. Firm lingering tannins. Somehow still enjoyable. Would like to pair it with pepper-crusted steak. |

| 2005 - Ridge Zinfandel Dusi Ranch |
| Good but not great |
| Jun 08, 2008 |
| This is another good vintage, but I'm not rushing out to buy more than the two bottles the winery sent us. The 2005 is certainly not a disappointment. Understated and balanced all the way through (for Sonoma Zin), there is an overall impression of strawberry jam and black cherries. Finish is strong but the length is a little disappointing. |

| 2004 - Ridge Zinfandel Dusi Ranch |
| Yummy |
| Jun 08, 2008 |

| Very yummy with big fruit and easy to drink. It has a nice deep color. The nose has aromas of red fruit & pepper. The flavors have more fruit & jam. The wine is smooth and easy on the mouth. It is easy to drink and enjoy with food. |

| 2003 - Ridge Zinfandel Dusi Ranch |
| Drink Now |

| This is a good bottle but unlike previous vintages, I don't think it has the guts to last. Very well-structured expression of California terroir. Everything that a zin should have - but well balanced and never over the top. It's just lighter in style and I think it will fade quick. |

| 2001 - Ridge Zinfandel Dusi Ranch |
| Jun 08, 2008 |
| Good wine that taste very simple. Very smooth with a mild, but nice nose. Unlike the majority of California Zins, this is not in your face with fruit or alcohol. This tastes more like an old vines zinfandel. Good stuff and would buy again. |

| 2002 - Seghesio Zinfandel Cortina |
| Good Vintage Again! |
| Jun 08, 2008 |
| This was more fruit forward than the 2001 but slightly less complex. Overall it was solid if a bit out of balance. Has that dry creek nose of rasperry confit all wrapped in a bright, medium bodied frame. Considering the price it's still a great buy. |

| 2001 - Seghesio Zinfandel Cortina |
| Yum Yum |

| Yum Yum indeed! This had very nice legs and an extremely spicy finish on the end. Overall a great zin with yummy raspberry fruit but made complex by the interesting spice component- I will buy this again. |

| 2003 - Ridge Zinfandel Late Harvest |
| Big and Raisins |
| Jun 05, 2008 |
| Big bold zin, with lots of raisin and ripe grape flavors. This wine is a little too fruit forward or raisiny for my taste. The oak is all over this wine as well. For the money I would pass. Other vintages have been about the same to me. |

| 2002 - Renwood Zinfandel Old Vine |
| Good Value |
| Jun 03, 2008 |
| Another solid vintage from renwood. Very enjoyable zinfandel. Has some spicy, cedar, and blackberry on the nose. Not as fruit forward on the nose as other zins but I enjoy that. Slightly tannic on the mouth but with vanilla, cherry and some smoke. Slightly grippy on the finish but a nice bottle overall |

| 2003 - Renwood Zinfandel Old Vine |
| Good Zin |
| Jun 03, 2008 |

| This Cali zin has great balance of fruit, tannins, acidity, and alchohol. Lots of great dried raspberry, tar, cedar, leather, brown sugar and baking spice flavors and aromas. Smooth tannins and just enough acidity to keep it lively. |

| 2000 - Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel Monte Rosso Vineyard |
| Pass |
| Jun 03, 2008 |
| Not Rosenblums best. Overall the oak just weighs in too much into the fruit which is already a little bit flabby. This would be an ok wine with pizza or spagehtti but the light chalky cherry flavors don't go far enough to be drunk on its own. |

| 2003 - Carmel Vineyards White Zinfandel Samson |
| Horrid |
| Jun 03, 2008 |
| This was horrid! It was so vile. I'm so tired of these wines being in the market place. A friend offered it to me at their house. I changed to beer afterward, which I hate. This is like rubbing alcohol. |
