Medium to dark red with a clear rim.  Shows a bit of bottle age.  Barnyard, roses, and classic Pinot fruit flavors on the nose.  Quite powerful.  Utterly delicious once it hits your palate, a very big wine with taut tannins that carry through to a long finish, 60+ seconds.  Highly enjoyable.

This wine (and this vintage perhaps?) is all about texture rather than power.  Very nice, with balanced cherry red fruits, acid, and alcohol.  Young now, this wine is already beautiful and will continue to develop in bottle.

More like 3.5 stars.  Slightly difficult to pinpoint!  Tasted over 2 days.  Day 1: Acidic & tart with an intense menthol / medicinal quality.  Tannic.  Day 2: A bit more fragrant with the medicinal aromas still there.  Very nice medium red color with a pink rim.  Rough & tumble on the palate, it throws down a mix of cherry, wood, and cola.  This could be good if you've got the time.

Tasted over two days.  Day 1: Pretty & floral.  Slightly tart with cherry and a nice stony minerality.  Day2: Medium red, still very nice but the acid is showing a little more.  Cola, cherry, floral.  "Yummy."

Great wine with the ability to live for a generation. While not as elegant as other wines form the region or vintage, this wine is built to impress and sold out through my work within a day of opening and tasting one. The huge, rich upfront plummy base with heaps of medre, and subtle tar underneath means that lovers of Oregon, Central Otago and Mornington peninsula pinots will be happy for years to come with this wine. Yummm!!!!

This is truly excellent burgandy!  It has a beautifulty "dirty nose" with a rustic drawl. In the mouth it bursted with wonderful sour cherry and a light hint of dark chocolate. This is what good Burgundian wines are all about. I will look forward to re-visiting this wine over the next several years as I still have  several of them left....

Well this one is anyway. The earthy mushrooms and silky strawberry fruit are the perfect combination.  Plus add wonderful warm stones and other rocks to the mix and you've got a pretty good feel for this wine.

This is a wild and clumsy Chorey, not my style. Bright red cherries, decent acidity with great acid level. I am sure some bottle age would help

Very similar to the Vosne from the same producer. There is red cherry and crush pebbles with a nicely balanced acid level.  These wines will payoff dividends in 3-5 years.

Light color with slight browning on the edge. The nose showed some burnt cedar quality and dried fruits of red cherry. On the palate the dried red cherry persisted. This wine has super depth, and a big almost brawny chewy tannin level. Very nice acid level for a pinot. Amazing stylish terroir traits of character filled dustiness &minerality on the mid-palate that showed much better than its class, that I usually need to step up a bit to find. After two hours it just got better, but alas it was almost gone. A wine with a tremendous sense of `place'. (tasted twice with consistent notes) Very regal.

In doubling the price from the Gevrey, I knew there was a lot expected. This opens with great bouquet of dark intense fruit. The fruit is hiding a bit on the palate. A very intense wine that is made for the journey. Not showing enough now, but I am sure the patient will be rewarded.

Now we are talking. Big intense as my Gevrey should be. Wonderful prettiness on the nose of flowers, black cherries, and slight oak, just enough to almost not notice. Nice. Fantastic bright Gevrey character. Cellar for a year or two, or enjoy now. I will

Sulphur nose that only opened up a bit with air. The darkest wine of the night. Once past the nose this had big chewy tannins and a bold structure of deep red & black fruits. (Super dark cherries and currants). Of all the night's wines, this needs the most bottle time. Very masculine and brooding

this was the most fragrant wine of the bunch; flowers, cherries, stones, and tar. Wow. A nice acid level alongside a sweet refined tannin level made this a pretty wine. Great structure and long finish. Did I say wow?

This was the funky wine of the night. There were some red fruits, but they were masked by the elevated alcohol and funky cellar floor. Wine like this I always attribute to sloppy winemaking techniques.

this had the most wonderful nose of red cherries, and pebbles. A nicely balanced acid level combined with a nicely structured tannin level wrapped within layers upon layers of sweet red fruits. A dry finish hurt this a bit.
