Offers blackberry and flowers, with just a hint of earth. Full-bodied, with refined tannins and a fresh, clean finish. Long and caressing, with an attractive texture. This estate is improving with a change in management. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Best after 2009

The nose initially releases ripe dried plum and bright wild berry fruit, with blueberry and raspberry predominating, complemented by clean-edged notes of morello cherry, yielding gradually to more pungent essences, particularly intertwined impressions of eucalyptus and menthol, which shade into spicy black pepper and cinnamon, and smooth vanilla. Last to emerge are enticingly crisp nuances of mown hay, black liquorice, and pencil lead. The attack is velvet smooth, and a firm-structured palate builds great depth, supported by a massive suite of fine-grained, ripe tannins. An almost endless finish crowns this impressive offering

I really like Nero d'Avola from Sicily for its ability to pair with a variety of Italian foods, and I liked this blend as well.  50% Merlot and 50% Nero d'Avola is medium red to red rim to clear on the outside.  Intoxicating nose of deep red berries and a hint of raspberry liquer.  Earthy on the midpalate with a bright, slightly tannic finish.  Not a huge fruity wine, this one has character.

Bright green, like melted gummies.  Not your typical Chardonnay, but that's because it's half Garganega.  Buttery desserts & custard on the nose.  The acid on the palate balances out any hint of sweetness and adds lots of minerality & apples.  A crisp Italian white that would sing with food.

this is a beauty, what more could you want from a cab. tastes like a classified bordeaux from a pedigreed estate but with the friendly attitude of an Italian. It has depth, length, fruit, tannin, earthiness. A sexy devil with room to grow and pleasure to give. How long will it last? About a week around my house!

I agree that Mastroberardino does a great job with thier Lacryma but I tasted a Lacryma made by DigiOr and thought it added a bit of refining and a larger burst of red fruit and have moved to that one for now :) try it... its good too

Mastroberardino's Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio rosso is fantastic.  The best red around.  Let it breathe some - and it's smooth and full of flavor.  Fantastic by itself, or with any foods.  Especially pizza, pastas or meats....  It's my favorite - I KNOW you'll love it.

After dinner wine - I can't imagine pairing this with food but I'm sure it could be done.  Sweet raisins coat your palate along with bitter dark chocolate.  This tastes like sophisticated raisinettes.  Enjoy.

Yes, my Italian may be rusty, but this wine is delisioso.

Dark vibrant red color. The nose shows crushed pebbles, currant, and plums. The palate shows black currants, and red raspberry and tar. There is a lush flintiness I really enjoy. The full throttle tannins are very smooth and there is a dryness that blows off nicely after 2 hours decant time. The finish is admirable. For $20 this is the best QPR I have had recently from Italia. My hat (if I wore one) is off to tne Frescobaldis and Mondavis. I will stock up.

50% Merlot, 35% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon90/100

Dark brick red color. Stewed fruit, moldy cheese, and this minty/earthiness in the nose. Full bodied, spicy and intense. Lots of fruit with this wine. Heck of a wine.

Brick red color. Huge nose of stewed cherries with cinnamon. Big in the mouth with a lot of sweet tannins. Try this in a decade.

2001 Masi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Serego Alighieri Vaio Armaron: After aging and before bottling, this wine saw two months in a cherrywood cask. Deep brick red color. Earthy nose, with a moldy cheese note. Also stewed fruit and you could definately get the cherry cask smell as well. Bright acidity, wonderful structure and balance. Stewed fruit plus earthy finish. This was a treat.

1st day, nose of CdP. Nice fruits, long finish, coffee, green pepper, silky. 92 points second day. A lot going on with fruits playing a secondary role here.
