Why grow Sangiovese in California is my first question. It just has never made any sense to me.  Also no one seems to do it well.  This wine is no exception.  The wine is ok as a table wine for pizza but its not as good as so many Italian wines that are less expensive and more interesting.

i like this screwtop QPR more that a lot of randall Grahm's other more expensive reds. Black cherry, rasberry and strawberry all play a part in this fruit driven sangio. Biodynamic farming might have helped the focus on minerals and fruit as opposed to earth and tannins. We can't ask for more from a $12 wine.

This is a great example of CA sangiovese. I love this wine. It's always a great value. Medium bodied, beautiful color, great balance of fruit and acidity. Wonderful with Pizza and other Italian food.
