2006 - Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc
Same old story...

A little more green in this vintage, but not too much.  Very nice grapefruit and bell pepper on the nose turns to kiwi and grass on the palate. A great wine, but most of these Whitehaven SB's are starting to all taste the same to me, which can be both good but also boring.

Just Enjoyable!

This is a simple vintage with not too much complexity but easy to drink.  This  wine comes on strong, from the moment you open the bottle. It has a definite fruity smell, and is very citric and acidic, particularly on the finish. It's very enjoyable for all palates.

This vintage was off the path from the last few.  I would have to say pass on this particular vintage if you are not a vegetable lover. Dominated by green pepper, it also has some grapefruit and cat pee. Very sharp on the palate . The green pepper is too strong for me.

Value!

Great value that delivers again. It has explosive grapefruit on the nose (more pink really). I love the spritz on the palate. You get a great pure rush of kiwi, pineapple, lime, gooseberry, and green apple. Very tangy and acidic but not overly so. Everything is in nice balance. The score would be much higher if the flavors would just stay longer. Great Value!

Good Wine but not complex

This is another good wine from Whitehaven. The nose on this wine is citrus, and the taste follows suit. Grapefruit is the predominant taste, and can be overwhelming if one doesn't love grapefruit. It is inoffensive in taste, and the crisp fruitiness makes up for the short finish. I would recommend it to those who like crisp, cool, fruity wines. If you're looking for a strong, complex wine, however, look elsewhere.

Easy to drink

It's easy to drink. It had a pale yellow, clear color. I got mostly grapefruit, hint of pineapple, celery on the nose. Taste: grapefruit start switching to lemon. Finished with lemon and pepper. I liked this wine. I found it interesting and thought provoking, very fresh. I would recommend it!

Wonderful Whitehaven

Crisp and citrusy. gained richness and complexity since the last time I tried. An excellent value and very typical for NZ Sauv Blanc. On the drier side. Wonderful with Talapia in a black bean ginger sauce.
