The nose was yeasty and fruity.  The head was large.  This was like a mouthful of fresh ripe peats drizzled with honey. Nuff said!

2001 - Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon

This is what Cabernet is all about.

My wife and I had the pleasure of trying this wine at a wine party.  Before this I had never involved myself with the pleasures of premire California Cabernet.  This was was full of flavor.  Although it was excellent with food, I could have enjoyed this wine on its own for it's complexity.  The body was full and rich.  The berry fruit was intense in this wine.  This wine was outstanding.

Great wine but needs time

This wine has the potential to be a great wine, but needs some more time in the bottle.  As we allowed it to air the fruit and earthy notes in this wine came forward.  I think that had we let it sit for say another 5-10 years it would have been outstanding.

1989 - Torres Mas la Plana Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon

What a wine!

My wife and I opened this to go with Rabbit Salmorejo. The stew was fantastic but the wine made the meal heavenly. It was rich and thick. Age had mellowed this out so that flavors remenisant of a dream filled your mind and mouth. What a disappointment that I had only bought one bottle.

2001 - Silver Oak Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon

Another example of a great California Cabernet

This wine has everything you'd expect from a classic Cali Cab.  Berry fruit, earthy undertones, and full rich mouth feel. Good bet!
